Overview

This week is going to get busy, as we are going to preparing for the fabrication of our machine design. While we are going through your Engineering Feasibility Report, all teams are encouraged to start contacting the suppliers (MISUMI, WeNext, Taobao, or others) regarding the fabrication of your machine design.

  • Tips on making Fabrication request
    • Contact the supplier or search the specific items to purchase and collect all details necessary.
    • Submit your purchase request through the Feishu app and include as much detail as possible.
    • Be aware of the shipping date and make frequent contact to make sure things would arrive on time.
    • Also, be aware of your budget. If more is needed, justify your case when submitting the purchase request and we will help you to decide.
    • If anything in doubt, contact our lab instructors for help and assistance.
    • The Assembly Engineer should work hand-in-hand with the Fabrication Engineer for the Fabrication and Assembly.
  • 2-page Design Notebook submission
    • We will post peer-review feedback as soon as possible, and please also be reminded regarding the 2-page design notebook submission.
    • Be sure to refer to the recommendations and guidelines we provided before making the submission.
  • Homework on Power Transmission
    • This Saturday is the deadline for submitting the Power Transmission homework released last week.
  • Lab/Workshop this Wednesday/Friday
    • We are in the process of finalizing the preparation for the mainDL lab at the New Engineering Building.
    • Please come directly to Room 235 at the New Engineering Building for the Wednesday/Friday class.
    • At least one of the members within your task force should be familiar with the exact location 🙂

  • Room 235 at the New Engineering Building
  • 0800: Hand in your design notebook for instructor review.
  • 0800-0815: Ms. Zhao Dan will start this week’s class with a small activity to help your guys get to know each other better.
  • 0815-0950: In-class discussion within your task force and team for project preparation.
